The Safe Place is a domestic violence shelter committed to serving domestic violence victims and their children. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have a 24-hour crisis hotline and we make referral to other necessary agencies or service as best fits the needs of callers and house clients.
Services provided:
- Protective services and advocacy for women and children who are victims of abuse.
- One-on-one lay counseling, referral to licensed counsels for individual or family counseling, as needed.
- Support groups, life-skills training, self-help groups, meal planning, etc.
- Personal hygiene supplies, cleaning supplies, food, clothing, shelter, etc.
- Assistance with applying for low-income housing, public assistance, court advocacy, employment, school enrollment, doctor appointments, etc.
- We assist with filing Orders of Protection and accompany victims to court.
- Offer caring concerned support with understanding, information about domestic violence and how it affects the victims and their children.
- Domestic Violence Education.
Our services are not limited to the above. Each client and children’s needs differ due to their particular situations so our services differ to meet those needs and situations.
