February is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month.
According to loveisrespect.org, 1 in 3 teens will be in an abusive relationship and 33% do not tell anyone about the abuse. Most parents say that they would know if their teen was being abused. However, it’s hard to recognize the signs if you don’t know them.
Abuse isn’t just physical; your teen may never have a single mark on them. Instead, they may seem anxious or depressed, change their behavior or the way they dress, stop hanging out with their friends and stop going to family functions. If this sounds familiar, visit Safe-Dating/Teen-Dating-Violence for more information or call 501.354.1884.
