Checklist of Items to Take When Leaving
When leaving, it is important to take certain items with you. Items with asterisks on the following items are the most import to take. If there is time, the other items might be taken or stored outside the home. These items should be placed in one location so that if you leave in a hurry you can have quick access to them.
- Identification for self – driver’s license, public ID, work ID, passport, etc.
- Birth Certificate – for yourself and children
- Medical Records for all family members – insurance cards, vaccination records
- School Records
- Money, credit cards, checkbook, ATM card
- Social Security Cards
- Divorce/Custody Paperwork
- Lease/rental agreement, house deed, mortgage payment book
- Keys – house, office, car
- Insurance papers
- Address Book
- Pictures
- Jewelry
- Children’s favorite toys and/or blankets
- Items of special sentimental value
- Financial Documents – income tax records, savings accounts, bank books
